About me
I work from my home in Hazelbury Bryan, near Sturminster Newton. As an Integrative Counsellor, I work holistically, drawing on various types of psychotherapy according to what suits each client and the issues they are struggling with. We are all individual and complex but we all suffer pain at times in our life and this takes many forms including anxiety, depression, anger and rage, negative thoughts, relationship issues, life crisis, trauma, serious illness, bereavement, childhood abuse, adult abuse and coercive control. I work with clients of any background, sexual orientation or ethnicity who are 18 or older. I also work with clients with ADHD.I trained at Iron Mill College in Exeter and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a Member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and as such abide by their Code of Ethics. I receive regular supervision and am committed to develop and maintain my knowledge and expertise through further training and CPD. I support my own resilience and emotional health through regular sessions with my own counsellor so I know how it feels to sit in the other chair!
Working together
People turn to counselling for many reasons – a sudden crisis, a long-term difficulty or simply a sense of being overwhelmed by life. I believe counselling is about giving you a safe, confidential place in which to explore your distress in the company of a warm, empathic, non-judgemental therapist. I cannot provide answers but I can walk beside you while you can find your own.I offer prospective clients a free initial consultation, lasting about 30 minutes, during which we will explore your problems and get to know each other a little. It is really important that you feel I am someone you can talk to comfortably. If we decide to work together, we will agree a time and date for our first session. All subsequent meetings will take place at the same time each week. We will also agree whether we meet face-to-face or on Zoom.

Fees
Sessions are 50 minutes once a week. Regular weekly sessions help us keep momentum and allows me to be there to support you if you find the issues difficult to talk about. The number of sessions needed depends solely on each client. This is why I allow for a free consultation, so we can identify if there is a short or long-term issue. However further issues often come out during the course of therapy so we will review progress regularly to ensure we are both happy with the direction we are taking.I charge £50 for each 50 minute session. This is payable by cash or by bank transfer. Payment is due at the end of each session.
